Using your old MegaPhone Address Book
Product: MegaPhone 2002
Platform: Windows 95b, Windows 98, Windows 98se, Windows Me, Windows 2000, Windows XP
Written: 10/26/2002
Modified: 7/21/2003

This article applies only to MegaPhone 2002. The MegaPhone 2002v2 installer performs this upgrade process automatically if you request it during the installation process. The MegaPhone 2002v2 installer also preserves mailbox settings and contents, including faxes, along with the needed fax viewer software.

If you're upgrading from an old copy of MegaPhone for Windows to MegaPhone 2002, you can use your old address book without export/importing as follows. Make sure that MegaPhone isn't running when you do this.

Your old copy of MegaPhone stored it's address book in one of two places:

C:\program files\cypress\megaphon\megaphon.mdb

or
C:\program files\aveo\megaphon\megaphon.mdb

All you need to do is copy this old file onto the clipboard, then paste the file into this folder (replacing the copy that's already there):

C:\program files\mpc\megaphon\megaphon.mdb

After the new copy of the address book file is in place, launch MegaPhone and all your address data should be available once again.
